About Share the Spirit Holiday Program
The "Share the Spirit Holiday" and "Sponsor a Family" Programs benefit Kids and Families in the St. Cloud and Twin Cities areas. The programs match families in need with individuals, families or groups wanting to provide gifts and/or food. To receive assistance a family must be referred by a local human service agency. Confidentiality for both donors and families in need is respected.
The Burg Golf Open shows support by using partial BGO proceeds to shop for the Kids and Families during the holiday season and the remainder of the funds raised are contributed with a check presented each year to the programs. In 2008, Burg Golf donated $20,000 thanks to 150 golfers, sponsors, donators, dinner guest and volunteers. That brings BGO's total contributions over the past eight years to over $90,000.
